Quick answer
Almond blossom honey is honey produced by bees foraging on almond flowers. Its name describes its floral source, not added almond flavouring or pieces of nuts. Honey Pot offers Almond Blossom in 500g and 125ml jars for customers in Cape Town and across South Africa.
There’s a new blossom in the Honey Pot collection. Whether you enjoy comparing honey varieties or want something new for your breakfast table, here is how to explore our newest addition.
Shop Almond Blossom honey →What is almond blossom honey?
Almond blossom honey takes its name from the flowers that bees forage on—not from almonds being mixed into the jar. Bees collect nectar from blossoms and turn it into honey.
It is different from almond-flavoured honey or honey containing nuts. A floral name describes the nectar source. It should not be read as a guarantee that bees visited only one kind of flower: the surrounding forage and the harvest both matter.
What does almond blossom honey taste like?
The name alone does not mean it will taste like almond butter or marzipan. Honey comes from floral nectar, rather than the almond kernel. Nectar source influences honey’s colour and flavour, so different floral varieties offer different tasting experiences.
Start with a small spoonful on its own. Notice the aroma, sweetness, texture and finish, then compare it with Eucalyptus or Multiflora. There is no need for expert tasting vocabulary—just notice what you enjoy. We have not assigned a fixed tasting profile to this batch; natural variation means it is better to taste than to promise the same flavour in every harvest.
Where could almond blossom honey come from in South Africa?
South Africa has almond orchards in the Western Cape’s Klein Karoo. Kammanassie Almonds, for example, describes growing almonds in that region. This makes the Klein Karoo a plausible almond-foraging area, not proof of where a particular batch of honey was harvested.
The exact harvest region of Honey Pot’s current Almond Blossom batch is awaiting supplier confirmation. We are not claiming that this batch comes from Kammanassie or any particular farm. A floral variety name and a verified geographical origin are two different pieces of information.

- Stir into porridge just before serving.
- Try a little in a dressing with olive oil, lemon juice and mustard.
Weekend breakfast idea: thick yoghurt, sliced pear, toasted oats and a drizzle of Almond Blossom honey.
Choose a 125ml or 500g jar
The 125ml jar is a convenient introduction if you want to try Almond Blossom before choosing a larger jar. The 500g jar suits regular use at the breakfast table or sharing at home.
These labels use different measurements: 125ml is a volume, while 500g is a weight. A 125ml jar should not be described as 125g. Both options appear below with current catalogue prices and availability.
Pair Almond Blossom with another Honey Pot variety for a tasting at home or a thoughtful food gift. Choose by curiosity and preference rather than assuming every honey should taste alike.
